Training and Solving Horse Training Problems
Before you attempt to solve any horse problem start by asking yourself 'why there might be a problem'.
For instance if your horse rears when he is brought in what is going to happen i.e. is the vet coming or is the farrier coming to shoe your horse?
If your horse bite could it be that he thinks you might give him a treat to obey you? Or is something hurting your horse when you saddle him up?
Or if you horse bucks after being saddled up is it because the saddle is hurting him? Or because the saddle is pinching?
Many horse problems are caused by the horse owner themselves and it's up to you the horse owner to think of any logical steps why your horse might have any behaviour problems.
Sometimes the horse will pick up on the fear that the horse owner might have because they realise the horse might disobey them and the horse will 'feed' of this fear. It's important to let the horse know that you are the boss and not the other way around.
So next time before the problem arises think 'what could the problem be for my horse'?
Never get angry with your horse if you start to yell or hit your horse you will lose your horses trust and your horse will fear you and will become to scared to learn from you. You horse can feel the mood you are in as they are extremely sensitive to your body language.
When training your horse remember that every horse learns at a different speed some horse can learn very quickly and other horses might need to go over the horse training exercises a few times before they understand it.
When training your horse be flexible with yourself and your horse if you have only 15 minutes teach your horse something simple. If you have an hour to train your horse - teach him an hour's worth of training this way your horse will stay happy and calm, and so will you.
